Identification of Anopheles spp. (Adult mosquitoes)

1. Anopheles mosquito is vector for malaria and filariasia (Wuchereria bancrofti).

2. Two important subgenera:
  - cellia --> Anopheles (cellia) maculatus
  - anopheles --> Anopheles (anopheles)

3. List of An. (cel) leucosphyrus group:-


   - An. cracens
   - An. latens
   - An. balabacensir
   - An. introlatus
   - An. hackeri
   - An. pujutensis
   - An. macarthuri

 Wing part, the costa region. Have 3 dark bands/marks. Indicate the Anopheles (Anopheles)


 Wing part, costa region. Have 4 bands or more indicate the Anopheles (Celia).

Speckled pale spot at the hind leg.


No speckled at the hind leg.
